Hello and welcome to my website, thank you for visiting. You may have come here for a range of different reasons: you might be seeking counselling, a mindfulness course or compassionate mind training. All these are available at affordable rates in central Exeter, Devon, UK. Counselling is also on offer in Newton Abbot. Alternatively, you may be interested in one of my single session events; perhaps you thought you’d like to try attending a day retreat, or a workshop to reduce worry or overthinking, lessen self-criticism or build confidence. Hopefully this website will help you to decide whether I am the right therapist/facilitator for you. Please feel free to contact me if you would like to book an initial free consultation, a mindfulness course, compassionate mind training, a day retreat or a workshop, or if you have any questions. I look forward to working with you.
My Approach to Counselling and Therapy
As your therapist, I will empower you to bring about changes that will allow you to experience a greater sense of wellbeing and balance. What you learn in counselling, or through a mindfulness or compassion course, will continue to be beneficial throughout your life. The amount of time spent attending a course or counselling may be minimal, but the self-awareness, insight and skills that are gained will be valuable and rewarding in the long term.
Therapeutic Specialisations
I have specialised qualifications in Integrative Counselling and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), with additional training in Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT). Much of my practice is based on individual counselling which I offer in Exeter and Newton Abbot, although MBCT and CFT are often facilitated in a course context in Exeter.
Other Information
Please sign up to the mailing list below if you wish to be notified as future courses, workshops and day retreats are added to the website, and of occasional offers available on them. There are typically 4-5 mailings per year.
I also facilitate several groups on Facebook which are free to join and be a member of: Depression Recovery – to support people on their journey out of depression. Mindfulness Practice Development Community – to support people who are developing a mindfulness practice at home following attendance on an 8-week course, or who are using self-help resources independently to do so. Compassionate Mind Practice Development Community – to support previous attendees of Compassionate Mind Training with their practice.
I am fully insured and follow the ethical code of practice of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and the Good Practice Guidelines for Mindfulness Teachers. I also receive regular supervision for both my counselling and mindfulness teaching practice in line with these guidelines.
