These workshops provide the opportunity to learn therapeutic strategies for managing wellbeing in a setting where you can also connect with others. The workshops I offer are experiential in nature so you will often be invited to participate in written or meditation-based exercises. I currently run workshops on the themes of Mindset Mastery, Lessening Self-Criticism and Building Confidence. Please scroll down for more details on each.
Mindset Mastery
Date TBC 2024, 7-9pm
Exeter Community Centre

This workshop will introduce you to a range of ways to step out of negative thought patterns, overthinking and worries. There will be a number of experiential exercises to try, which will help with gaining some distance from difficult thoughts and with shifting the focus of your attention. The workshop will primarily use techniques from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), which is an evidence-based approach including aspects of mindfulness, alongside other strategies for altering perspective.
Feedback received from running this workshop previously:
“A good range of techniques to try…I liked the blend of quick vs more in depth and particularly valued the use of…observing which worked for me.”
“Good content and handout provided at the end of the workshop.”
“Full of ideas and strategies to use…I really enjoyed the visualisations and also the opportunity to discuss the different strategies and people’s reactions to them.”
N.B. You will not be expected to share your worries and/or negative thoughts. We will be focusing on learning strategies together and any discussion to which you will be invited to contribute will be about how effective you found specific techniques, and participation in these will always be optional.

This workshop will help you to become more familiar with your inner critic and to change the way you relate to it. It will provide you with ways to lessen the harshness of your internal voice over time, and to become more supportive and encouraging towards yourself.
This is a new workshop based on a selection of material from the 8-week Compassionate Mind Training that I have facilitated in the past. You can read feedback from these courses on this webpage.
